Harinama Sankirtan

Join us for this enlivening and ecstatic service of sharing the transcendental sound vibration of Maha Mantra Music (Sankirtan), which is the prescribed duty (Yuga Dharma) of this age of Kali Yuga. We spread the sacred sounds of sankirtan in many varieties of places; parks, city centers and boulevards, markets; lakes, beaches and mountaintops; and anywhere that people gather publicly, so all may be touched by this transcendental vibration of bhakti.

Our regular harinama locations include Pike Place Market, the Downtown Pier, the University District on “the Ave”, and Downtown Seattle on Westlake.

Transcendental Book Distribution

One key feature of the mission of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the most recent golden avatar of Sri Krishna, is to freely distribute love of God to all, regardless of caste, creed, or qualification.

Distributing books passes the torchlight of transcendental knowledge to souls who otherwise might not come in contact with these spiritual truths.

We are blessed that all these ancient literatures have been translated into English and many other languages in the last century by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, making knowledge that was once locked away to only those who knew Sanskrit, accessible for all.

Feeding the
Under-served

Prasadam literally translates into “gracious gift“. Vegetarian, sattvic preparations are offered to Lord Krishna with loving devotion, thereby blessing and spiritualizing it – the “remnants” are then called prasadam.

Prasadam has the potency to transform the consciousness of an individual, opening their hearts and minds to devotional service and transcendental divine love

We regularly distribute delicious, nutritious prasadam meals to underserved populations and our programs and events, free of charge

Sponsor Prasadam Distribution:

$108 covers compostable to-go boxes & eatware

and three types of prasadam preps for 60-80 people

Mahā-prasādam is nondifferent from Kṛṣṇa... Kṛṣṇa is very kind. In this material world we are all very much attached to tasting various types of food. Therefore, Kṛṣṇa eats many nice varieties of food and offers the food back to the devotees, so that not only are one’s demands for various tastes satisfied, but by eating prasādam one makes advancement in spiritual life. Therefore, we should never consider ordinary food on an equal level with mahā-prasādam.

Gurudeva
in Seattle

Associating with a pure devotee, sadhu, or Guru (sadhu-sangha) – gives one the most rare opportunity to develop Pure Bhakti and connect to Sri Krishna. Bonafide sadhus and devotees of Krishna are full of divine love, compassion for all, deep wisdom and extensive knowledge of transcendental topics, having studied and practiced for many years under their prospective Gurus.

These sadhus are specially empowered to spread higher consciousness and pure devotion. Our Gurudeva Srila Bhaktivedanta Vana Goswami Maharaja has the rare, special qualities of this type of spiritual association that can be life-transformingRead more about him on the about page.

Our ashram typically hosts our Guru Maharaja twice per year.

Sponsorship goes towards airfare, transportation, prasadam and outside program costs.

Programs with Traveling Bhakti Yoga Masters & Teachers

Our Ashram hosts traveling Bhakti Yoga teachers from around the world to speak at special programs whenever possible. These teachers are highly qualified, being under disciplic succession (with prospective spiritual masters in our lineage) and having studied under and associated with monks for many years. Hearing and learning from them bestows so many blessings, knowledge, and the development of meaningful personal relationship.

These events include kirtan (mantra music), hari-katha (dharma talk-style wisdom lectures), and vegetarian/plant-based prasadam feasts.

We are always grateful for support during these events by your attendance, and/or any financial contribution or seva (volunteer devotional service).

Please contact us below to get involved or inquire about upcoming traveling teachers.

Ashram & Devotees

Ashram means “a place of spiritual shelter“, and sat-sangha (spiritual community) associated with such a place.

Ashrams provide a place of retreat from the material world, a soul-oasis where bhakti yogis and yoginis can develop sadhana (spiritual practice) and active devotional service.

Ashrams provide a place where one can learn about spiritual life, take shelter of and study under a Guru, learn scripture, acquire transcendental knowledge about Divinity, and awaken one’s innate relationship with Lord Krishna.

Our ashram serves as the primary gathering space for weekly programs, acts as a centerpoint for spiritual learning and connection to a bonafide Guru, and provides opportunity for rendering ongoing seva (selfless service) for personal spiritual growth and community development.

Interested in sponsoring? Sponsoring empowers us to dedicate more time to bhakti projects, public outreach, and to an increased number of regular classes and programs.

Community Garden

About the Garden

Our ashram has three big beautiful garden beds where we grow herbs and vegetables using permaculture-style growing methods to serve from garden-to-table at our community prasadam dinners.

This provides an opportunity to provide sustainable, pure, healthy options to offer to the Lord and our community, grown with love.

We use organic seeds, compost and insect repellants. Any food waste from our kitchen is composted, and then returned back into the soil to grow more foodstuffs for prasadam.

Sponsorship for this project goes towards purchasing seeds, starts, gardening tools, garden care products, and soil as needed.

Grow your bhakti creeper – plant the seed of devotion

Volunteer

Experience the empowerment of learning to grow your own food, and the healing transformation in your heart of connecting to the earth, to plant seeds and watching them grow into nourishing flowers and fruits to be offered to the Divine Sri Krishna.

By weeding, nurturing and cultivating the garden’s plants in a mood of devotion and love, we can learn to tend to the garden of our hearts and nourish the bhakti creeper of devotion within.
